Founded in 1760 on Conduit Street in London by James Henry Creed, The House of Creed first established its reputation as a tailoring house serving the British royalty and aristocracy. For over 250 years, the Maison has cultivated the art of fine craftsmanship across seven generations, guided by an unwavering commitment to exceptional materials, meticulous technique

and a spirit of bespoke creation.

This heritage of precision and artistry – rooted in the traditions of British tailoring – would come to shape Creed’s distinctive approach to fragrance, where the discipline of tailoring finds its olfactive expression in the art of French Haute Perfumery. The same exacting standards that once defined a perfect silhouette now compose a distinctive signature.

Born in the hands of artisans, the Art of Millésime perpetuates its noble heritage, where the rarest natural ingredients are hand-weighed and aged in Creed’s facilities near the Château de Fontainebleau. Through these meticulous steps, the House preserves and reinvents its centuries-old tradition of savoir-faire, crafting timeless fragrances as a seal of elegance.

Today, Creed travels extensively to source, research, inspect and commission the finest materials from around the globe. Rose from Bulgaria, Turkey and Morocco, Florentine Iris, Calabrian bergamot, Haitian vetiver, Bourbon vanilla, Italian jasmine and the finest ambergris notes are just a few of the signature ingredients found in Creed fragrances. These are just a few of the treasures in the Creed laboratory. Still based at Paris, with a factory at Fontainebleau, Creed manufactures many of its own essences using a traditional technique – a process now abandoned by most as too costly but which sets the Creed fragrances apart from some of their modern counterparts.

The high quality natural raw ingredients are still weighed out, mixed and macerated by hand. The process is labour intensive but Creed is driven by artistry and perfection.
